A fresh bottle of 2000 Henri Boillot Corton Charlemagne unlike the previous bottle I opened, however the wine overall lacks fruit intensity. Fresh and subtle array of yellow orchard fruits and lemon extract. Young with oily texture of Corton Charlemagne. Interesting but probably not worth seeking out for. (85/100)

Served blind this bottle didn't show as well as another had a year back during a Corton vertical. Quite subdued in fruit terms. Had good weight and mouthfeel but I was missing the sparks. Side by side a Cervaro 2011 I was undecided on my preference.

Spanish pot luck (Chicago, IL): I love this wine. For the most part, it has been a really brilliant bottle of wine, showing exactly what a Corton-Charlemagne ought to show. It's a broad-shouldered, intense and powerful wine, with just the right amount of reduction on the nose, followed by a powerful palate that is generously adorned by a beautiful mix of ripe fruit. And behind all this adornment is a powerful vein of acidity. This actually came across as fresher than than 2008 Bouchard tonight. My last bottle from a purchase five years ago. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't feeling a hint sentimental about it.

200 Burgundy Grand Crus from vintage 2000, 4-day blind tasting (Singapore): As good as it gets, all you want from white Burg, lemon curd, pop corn, a bit of oak. Awesome. On par with, even with the upper hand vs the stellar Leroy in this flight.

PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“No” day): Medium golden to the eyes.
Nicely toasty, sweet corn flakes in the best way. Mature ripe citrus fruits.
Still some power and impressive for a 2000 indeed - No sign of premox for this. Enjoy now.
