This bottle was just a touch off of what I expected; a bit acid on the front, and flowery flavors didn't show their best with that acid. Fine heavy tannins are showing well.

It is decent. Opened last night and decanted. Didn't wait long enough. Glass was in need of waiting. Sat in decanter uncovered overnight. Next evening, it had a very slight sour taste as if it were going past it's peak. Hopefully, my other bottle will be better. I will do a better job of not leaving out not covered overnight.

This bottle was just realizing it's potential. Dried fruit flavors with a bone-dry tannin in the middle and on the finish. It looks like I was impatient with the first bottles I tried and did not aerate adequately. This wine needed extra time to open up eve for a Sagrantino. This wine will be good for another 10 years if kept properly.

Absolutely decant this bottle. I have enjoyed many vintages of Còlpetrone Sagrantino di Montefalco and learned by making the mistake of not decanting. The 2008 vintage is drinking very well in 2020 but might have peaked last year. This bottle absolutely explodes in body and character after decanting. Overall this is medium-full bodied wine that due to its spice, dark fruit, burnt minerality, and long finish pairs very well with big meals, flavorful sauces, and meats.
