Opened two bottles. The first tasted great upon opening, but with some time it showed as tainted (corked). The second bottle was cool as it was straight out of the cellar. However, it did not disappoint. It was lush, complex and balanced on the side of acidity. Red fruit, spice, barnyard. Went down very easily. A beautiful wine.
Always a wine I have loved. Jadot did well in ’97. Much more elegant style than the CSJ served alongside. Complex. Earthy, red fruited, elegant style. Some secondary notes and funk that I love. Soft tannins. Not at all over ripe. Not quite as good as 3 years ago. Drink now … at it’s peak.
