  Solid cork . Decanted two hours before drinking. Lighter red color with thinner structure than other Barolos of this quality of vintage. Drunk in a taste comparison side by side with an excellent 2001 Amarone and paired with traditional Italian meatballs in tomato sauce with linguine. The Barolo had a complex full and fruity bouquet with sour cherry most notable and that continued onto the palate combined with earthy tones of vanilla.

  Love this Barolo: fig, dried red fruit, mature cherry, laurel, clove, espresso, leather, tobacco leaves, tar, medium body, long aftertaste.

  Earthy nose with leather,mineral cherry and some spice. Took about 1.5 hours to really shine but was very good even after a pop and pour. Smooth tannins that were totally integrated. Good finish. Everyone liked this. 93+

  Good acid and balance, it is a bit lighter than most Barolo. Nice raspberry notes. Hitting its drinking window. Opened 1 hour ahead, no decanting. Went beautifully with osso bucco. Another 5 years life.
