Tasted blind. I had no problem nailing it perfectly from the nose alone. Ripe plums, figs and mud notes. Superbly balanced, dark fruit and hung meat notes. Delicious and what an amazingly consistent wine....
Day 1: Intensely floral nose with some coffee notes, the kind of nose where you wish you didn't have to stop to drink. Impeccably balanced, the tannins are not quite fully integrated but are very well along their way. Shows quite a bit of American oak, but doesn't overwhelm with the typical coconut/dill notes. Sappy bright cherries, the grip on this is nice. Clearly of the highest pedigree.
Day 2: Nose of bright cherry. Flavors of cedar and pomegranate persist; this is much higher toned than it was yesterday.
