Pale, translucent ruby red color. Weird, somewhat mute and rather aldehydic nose with aromas of apple juice, some acetaldehyde notes of green apple slices, a little bit of pear peel, light sappy notes of herbal greenness, a hint of cranberry and a touch of earth. Overall the wine seems to have taken some hits along the way. The wine feels medium-bodied, thin and rather mute on the palate with somewhat green-toned flavors of tart lingonberries, some tangy green apple tones, a little bit of salty soy sauce and a hint of raspberry leaf tea. The wine is very high in acidity with no perceptible tannins. The finish is short, dull and slightly bretty with flavors of tart cranberries, some leathery funk, a little bit of damp Band-Aid and a hint of pear peel.
A weird and slightly oxidized wine that smells like no other red wine I've sampled and tastes rather thin and dull. The slightly Fino Sherry-like aldehydic tones only emphasize the impression of oxidation. Flawed bottle.

This bottle drunk like a Chénas with an iodine-and-dirt quality to it, berry smells, a slightly milky texture. Very good. The taste was more stemmy than a bottle of the 2012 vintage drunk a couple of months ago in a restaurant.

Dark fruit with still present tannins and some tartness. Rather rustic style.

Even better than the last bottle I drunk a couple of weeks ago. Earthy. This definitely benefited from being decanted, taming the high acidity.
