Heat damaged. Cork stained to the top. Purchased November, 2016 from a reputable NJ retailer. Kept in my 56F wine cellar since purchase. Must have been heat damaged in transit. Stewed fruit aromas. Re-tasted on day two, no change. DOA.
To be returned for $28US credit.

Dark cherry, leather, and earth on the front of the palate. Good tannic acidity as a follow through on the middle, with very dark fruit and balsamic vinegar notes on the end of the palate. Great qpr on this wine!

I enjoyed is though it wasn't as rustic as I prefer for gigondas. Love me a st cosme but this was all Whole Foods had. Lively red fruit, touch earthy. A little expensive at $40 but what do u expect for Whole Foods.

The Gour de Chaule Cuvée Tradition 2011 has that fabulous, oh so classic Gigondas profile. It runs the complexity gamut—a delicious romp through musky feralness interlacing macerated strawberries and black cherries, earthiness and stunning violet-tinged floriality. This is all that Grenache can be; vivid, wild and expressive. In this case, a medium-bodied, intense wine that tapirs to a close shot through with white pepper and Herbes de Garrigue.
