This was a MUCH better showing than bottles three and four years ago, which were fine, but not particularly interesting. On pop and poor, it was quite aromatically expressive and showed earth and some red fruit on the palate With time, the structure (ie tannin) came to the fore and the aromas fell off a good bit.

Decanted for an hour or so and drank over another couple of hours. Medium body fading and maybe a little bricking at the rim. Bright cherry and cranberry fruit, strong acidity, a hint of a darker savoury undertones are developing, a few velvety tannins remain on the tip of the tongue, decent finish, lovely wine and it doesn’t feel like it’s running out of steam any time soon

A similar showing to a bottle a year ago, if perhaps a bit less tannic. I see no reason not to think this will do well with at least mid-term cellaring

Medium garnet. Pronounced aromas of dried red and dark fruit, smoke, liquorice, violets, tea leaves, forest floor. Developing. Dry palate, high acidity, medium fine tannins, high alcohol, medium + flavours similar to the nose, long persistent finish. I’d rate this bottle higher than the last one - had greater concentration and complexity, and also a very nice freshness. Outstanding. In this basis, it’s still get quite a few years of life ahead. Surprised however by the bottle variation as same source, storage and closure (screwcap). Perhaps it was just he on the night!

Nice, but not particularly complex or unique. Doesn't seem like more age will help much.
