  • nice dark red color. see through, but with a nice concentration towards the middle

nose: very interesting gamey nose. Smoked venison, earth, brambles, and sour berries. real big nose that is fun to smell.

taste: lots of sour cherry and venison. Big initial mouth, and it then quickly moves into other secondary flavors with more brambles and smoke notes. Nice mouthfeel and some really good polish on the mouth. really interesting mouth that really makes my mind wander into thoughts about the lay of the land and wonder about the vineyard itself

overall: a really wonderful wine. This is what I love about burgundy as this wine just can't be made anywhere else. I do wish for a longer finish, but this is young and grand crus don't start to show what they are really about til the tenth to twelfth year. This one has a lot of life in it and is in that adolescent stage. This is a thought provoking wine and is a great pleasure to drink. not enough right now to push it over to that next level, but man, this is pleasure in a bottle
