Aromas of black raspberry with a little smoke in the middle of a rocky violet patch lead to a plush, round, slightly bitter cassis flavors with a chalky mineral streak that becomes more pronounced the longer it is open.

Excellent!

Monthly Tasting Group HWS; Cornas (By JdB): Beautiful bouquet with red and dark berries, forest, earth and some development. On the palate the same impressions, round and supple, with mineral impressions, leather, juicy acidity and round tannin. Friendly wine with good complexity in its young maturity stage. Very pleasant wine. 92+

Sadly my last bottle, and it has years on it still. Inky dark and subdued at first, but opened up to this wonderful sleek racy cassis/blackberry fruit braced by mineraly touch-o-menthol notes. Exotic mocha / "violet marshmallow" as well.. Fascinating side by side with an '02 Ridge ATP Lytton Estate "Syrah II" - which showed bigger and even fruitier but amazingly similar.
