This was exceptional for the price. Drank alongside a 2013 Rochioli and even though that was great, this outshone it. Wonderful fruit and acid that went beautifully with the fish. What a mistake not buying more. It's off to WHWC I go to get the 2013 vintage.

Ripe yellow fruit with a hint of spice on the chalky nose. The palate is also fairly ripe for this bottling, with less complexity and freshness than in better vintages. Still good, but not as excellent as for example the 2011.

Nose has a top layer of salinity, with butter and oak underneath. Palate follows the nose, and has just the smallest hint of sweetness on the finish (don't get me wrong - this wine is dry). This wine is fresh and accessible--would be a cool wine to mix it up with the California chardonnay crowd. But that's not what I want in a Sancerre.
Try the 2012 Rosé, I'm a buyer of that stuff.

Strong acid still, great minerals, integrated. A powerful Sancerre, grapefruit and chives. Remarkably lively, surprising for a 2012 at this stage.
