  • Double decanted in the AM and drunk over a few hours

A nutty, honeyed, and floral nose. Mature and intoxicating. Fresh on the palate, it's mid weighted and impossibly deep yet buoyant, with terrific detail and a sense of stoniness. Hugely perfumed, deep and broad, yet drinking as easy as mineral water. An effortlessly beautiful wine that drank nearly implausibly better than my previous few bottles. Some days you just get lucky. At peak and will stay there for some time. Fantastic

  • Good bottle, although not my style of wine. Fresher than others I have had with more distinct clove and allspice backnotes. 92-93

  • Pears when chilled. Danish butter cookies as it warmed and developed in the glass. White fruit. Medium length.

  • Purchased at the same time as the bottle consumed on 7/20/12, this wine was virtually identical. Please reference those notes for additional details.

  • From a bottle purchased on release, this wine looked strong with a bright yellow center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose was classic with candle wax, green melon, pear, almond paste, and some soil.

After 2 hours the wine was medium bodied with a nice juicy mid-palate, firm acidity, and very nice length. It certainly was nice with food.

While it is a little more subtle than a great white burgundy, this is an impressive wine in its prime that will easily last 10 years. Enjoy!
