Monthly Tasting Group EEE #018; New Zealand (@ MG): Ruby red color. The bouquet is a bit dusty, with cherries and some caramel. Overall still a bit reticent. On the palate dark cherries and blackberries, red bell peppers, sweet spices, juicy and good acidity and tannin with a bite. A bit grainy tannin. Also some spices like white pepper. Impressive how youthful this 9 year old wine still is. Will probably even be better around 2015.
