2nd of 2 bottles, last one was consumed 2 yrs ago. Quite fruit-forward on the nose and palate, showing off fresh strawberry, raspberry, black cherry, and plum. Nice complexity under all that fruit, with forest floor, cola, and some cinnamon spice. Finely grained, lightish tannins on the long and fruity finish. Drinking nicely now and will likely continue to do so for another 4+ years.

Delicious RRV Pinot from Swan. Nicely aged at 7 years now, the wine shows gorgeous Pinot spice, forest floor, cranberry and red cherry flavors. It is definitely new world on the nose and palate, but in a very restrained and "proper" way. The best of both worlds, actually. Nice and long finish with minty spice, cinnamon and wet earth. Will drink nicely for another 3-5 years, but it is delicious now, so I'll consume my remaining bottle within a year or 2. Very nice.

Rating is from the second night - which was delicious. Cherry smoked First night was good but a little hot. Gased half bottle and so ENJOYed the second night. Does this mean let it cellar longer? Is this a shoulder season issue ( we have a wine friend who says don't even think about drinking pinots in the late spring Kate fall). Anyway. So much Better second night - while decent the first!

14.5% alcohol. A touch darker than the usual Saralee's, a moderate red cherry color. This is somewhat reminiscent of the 2003 version of this wine, with a knockout nose of ripe cherry and baking spice. In the mouth, it leans out a touch, but still has delicious cherry fruit, bright acidity, and a mildly tannic finish. Pretty wine. Elegance with voluptuous flavor. A-

Big, but starting to come into balance. All you would want in to RRV pinot, with elegance and depth.
