Purchased on release from winery in 2013, stored in temperature controlled unit since. PnP, consumed over 3 hours. Appearance: Clear, medium garnet with slight edge bricking. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with aromas of stewed plums in cream sauce, dried black fruit, allspice, and leather. Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium tannins are soft, full body, medium+ intensity, 15.6% abv is over the top and completely dominates with flavors of dried black fruit, allspice, and leather with a lingering alcoholic burn dominating the medium+ finish.
I am alcohol adverse at this stage in my wine consumption career, but I did get half-way through a second glass before submitting to this beast. There is plenty of stuffing here to carry the high alcohol, but it's just to over the top for my palate. On a positive note, for a 12+ year old wine it still has some life left to it. Drink now, or over the next 2-3 years.

Still drinking quite nice. Really enjoyed this with some steak. Definitely syrah heavy. Not as complex as the Nicora syrahs but nicely balanced, oversaturated fruit. It felt a little hot but not very noticeable since the tannin and the fruit were still there.
No real secondary flavors yet but it did have a almost French mustiness that I like.

A nose of bright fruit, followed by darker fruits and pepper on the palate. The Syrah dominated this blend. Delicious!
