Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • A blend of 98% Tinto Fino (aka Tempranillo) and 2% Albillo (an indigenous Spanish white varietal) from 20-45 year old vines aged 8 months in American Oak. A dark purple red color with an aromatic nose of black cherry, cola, plum, earthy barnyard, tobacco, and cocoa. The palate is flavorful with unsweetened chocolate and cocoa powder, juicy red berries, gritty earthy minerality. This wine is dry, medium heavy bodied, with tart acidity, medium astringent tannins, and a very long juicy finish. This wine has plenty of complexity and depth. Not necessarily powerful but very balanced and well put together. Was perfect with my roasted chicken, braised brussel sprouts and parsley root. 4/5
