HK Children's Skin Foundation 2nd Annual Charity Dinner & Auction (Chez Patrick Restaurant, 2/F, Garden East, 222 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai, Hong Kong): No detailed notes because of the cameraderie, conversation and hectic bidding on our table......... this was a stunningly good wine that has probably just recently entered its full drinking window and had a georgeous quietly understated elegance and power that definitely cut through the considerable distractions of the evening. Lots of "power and grace" earthiness and semi-tart wild strawberries....it chimed perfectly with the Burgundy snails and pigs' trotter/mushroom parcels. I loved this and found it very more-ish. Several of our guests asked if they could buy a case of this....sadly, it wasn't on the auction list because Nigel had donated it all to the dinner wines. Thanks, Nigel....

Young but reasonably approachable. Classic Chambolle characteristics, with Grand Cru weight. I'm looking forward to drinking more of these over the years as they evolve. B
