Plums, dark cherry. The wine is out of balance for me to be honest. The fruit is nice enough but the acidity is a little sharp. I feel it has passed its best. Possibly a bottle issue, but I won't be rushing to buy any more.
Double decanted 2 hours. Sweet fruit aromas of apricot, plum, sweet berries. Silky palate, maybe a touch porty, showing its alcohol just a touch after some time in the glass.

A very nice port-like 94/100 (4.0/5.0) from me. Burgundy in colour, this lovely Merlot had a sweet port like nose. It was medium to light bodied, with rich cherries, plums and a porty finish. It's one of Australia's best Merlots - with a $100 + price tag to match - and I can see why.
It's probably 2-3 years off its best. Interestingly, this was blind tasted against 10 other wines and was a resounding hit, scoring second place on the night.

Wow. What an amazing bouquet! Stunning vintage port aromas - oriental spice, smoke & brandy. I’m lost for words. A very supple wine. Slightly sweet plumb and rosella jam flavours, dance across that vintage port background. Great complexity, balance and smoky length of finish. A stunning wine.
