  • When this wine was released a little over 7 years ago I suspected this will be a decent bottle to age for a while in spite of it's modest price range and i should have headed my own advise and kept more of it as it now way over delivers. The characteristics of youth have intensified and softened and this has put on more textural intensity and complexity. note to self -i need to age more GV. Very well done

  • Disclosure ITB, and I offered this wine to my clients. Originally tasted at Terry Theise DI industry tasting and this showcased the superb 2012 vintage beautifully. Another bottle tasted this week showed rich aromatics combining exotic yellow fruit tobacco notes and field herbs, great balance and a superb mouth feel to this ripe and relatively rich Gruner. Simply put the Schwartzbocks hit the bull's eye with this one. A bottle in the fridge still singing 3 days later. If you are a GV fan you will enjoy this one.

  • At Divo wine club tasting. Very light green/yellow. Quite forward nose of citrus and almonds, not very complex. On the palate I am reminded of the atrocious Swiss wine called Fendant. Just lacking a bit of core and complexity. Definitely not for me this one.
