Pretty spectacular - what a shame it would be to only get a thimble full of this and miss the amazing evolution of this wine. Split between two people, we got to watch the 95 Coche CC unfold from a huge, monolithic hazelnut and mushroom inflected wine onto a more open, mellow, lemony, sous bois, hazelnut, lanolin profile. Layers and layers - this just kept unfolding. Every 15 minutes over the first hour this showed something different. Rich, beautiful, and long. Very, very fine white Burgundy.

Some Wine Tasted at the Zachys Auction (RN74 - San Francisco CA): Small glass, brief note. Wow, is this super concentrated! And opulent! If served blind, I might have even thought this an amazing Condrieu. Lush stone and tropical fruit start-to-finish. Glass o' pleasure. This was purchased by a new friend as an auction "immediate indulgence." Much thanks for sharing!

Coche-Dury Corton-Charlemagne Vertical Dinner (Le Bernardin, New York): Not 100% botrytized but pretty close. Dark yellow gold in the glass and a very sweet nose that read like d'Yquem. Overly sweet and ripe palate. Apricot. Drinkable, but more like a dessert wine and obviously not what this is supposed to be at this stage.

Shin. Lemon curd aromas. Honeyed, resolved and very sweet to suggestion of slightly botrytised. Nonetheless amazingly clean and super persistent.

This was a very special bottle of wine. It started strong, and continued to develop well over the night. Good stuff.
