This wine is a Burgundy style reminiscent of a Santenay. It opens thin as mentioned but after a few hours it completely changes and tastes nothing like an Oregon pinot. Best with food and certainly very drinkable.

I'll take some responsibility for buying the '11 and waiting a bit long to pull the cork but gee whiz, Ken... Some cherries and mushroom on the nose but very light and tasted mostly like sweet tarts. Could not choke much of it down

Not one of Ken Wright's better wines (It was bottled with a Nomacorc) but I didn't think it was as bad as some of the other reviews. Definitely a lighter Oregon Pinot. Nice nose but nothing to write home about in the body or finish.

Medium ruby color. PNP, drank 2 glasses over an 90 minutes. Based on previous CT notes, i expected this to be about the worst wine I've ever had.....fortunately, that was not the case. We could have a long conversation about why the experiences were different, but i can tell you that the bottle we opened this night was really nice example of a Oregon pinot in a Burgundian style. The nose offers up a lovely perfume of damp earth, a touch of funkiness, briar, ripe berries, and spice. The palate has a silky texture with light-medium body, lovely berry fruits, spices, briar, dry earth notes, and cinnamon with nice tannins. The finish is medium plus. As experience with 2007 has shown us, some of the cooler vintages need more time to show. I can't say if that was the case here, but I would be most happy to drink this again.

Spring Bacchanal with Winemaker Ken Wright (Roti Roppongi, Tokyo, Japan): Toasted berries, sweet spice slight Christmas cake notes, very ripe. In the mouth the wine has juicy red berry fruit, spice, mid and front of mouth tongue coating grip. Good in a very overworked style
