10x20 Victorian Tasting (Customs House, Sydney, Australia): Honey, guava, some butter and hay aromas. The palate has developed as well but there isn't enough depth and there is a very small out of place spirity twinge to the finish. Drink now.

Greeny gold Nose of silage, very strong (Swiss) cheese, floral limes, nectarine, funky melon. A lush palate that’s drenched in fully ripe (think Carribean) lime, wonderful perfectly balanced oak (not too vanillin, not too woody…). At 14C. OK, there’s masses of oak here, but it’s really nice oak, and it works with the fruit so well. This is not too ripe yet not underripe, elegant, balanced, fantastically well integrated wine.

Age has made this an indescribably amazing wine. Sea shells? Oceans breeze?

Bannockburn Vertical Tasting - Chardonnay, Pinot & Shiraz (Royal Automobile Club, Sydney): Showing young and primary - but showing good intensity, especially in comparison with the standard ‘01. Tight nose with barrel input evident as well as some butter and melon. A touch of heat on the front palate disrupts the line. Length is good. Give it time.
