Aromas dominated by wet wool. After 30 minutes the wet wool was still there. Also after an hour, but less dominating, also a lot of focused and persistent fruit, with mineral aromas. Anyway, minus for the wet wool.

Last of 12, opened 30 minutes, perfect level, soft and travelled cork, again super, GC weight and intensity, vv long and complex, tending to ripe peach flavours but always with balancing citric cut, just sense of fruit starting to lose vigour, drink over next few years. VF (18.5).

11th of 12, opened 30 minutes, perfect cork and level, again yum, little changed since last bottle in August 18, at or just past best, but no rush. VF (18.5).

10th of 12, decanted 30 minutes, perfect cork and level, lovely and fresh, if without extra nuance and dimension of March bottle, hint that fruit may be beginning to fade so best drink up. VF (18.5).

9th of 12, opened an hour, perfect cork and level, simply splendid, fresh, pure but proper grand cru weight, multi-layered, real enery and balance, this and the BdM the best 02s so far, still scope to develop and mirabile dictu no trace of POX! VF+ (19).

(Paul Pernot et ses Fils Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet) Butter, oaky nose; tight but tasty, rich, oak, mineral palate that gets better as it sits in the glass; long finish
