  • Foamy, and bright, lots of tingling on the tongue. lemon and brioche, with a slight bitterness in the finish.

  • Chardonnay
    from vineyards in Lleida, with the most continental climate in D.O. Cava.
    Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Parellada
    from vineyards in the Penedès area.
    De-stemmed and pressed. Vinified at 15-17*C.
    Blended and bottled with liqueur de tirage.
    Second fermentation and aging on lees for 15 months.
    11.5% Abv.
    History: Dates back to 1551 with Jaume Codorníu.
    In 1659 Anna Codorníu married Miquel Raventós.
    Josep Raventós Fatjó produced the first cava in 1872.
    Raventós Codorníu is the oldest winegrowing business in Spain,
    currently comprising 15 wineries in Spain, US, and Argentina.

    A(ccuray)=2: Pale cream/yellow. Mildly aromatic and effervescent.
    B(alance)=2: Savory components with adequate structure.
    C(omplexity)=2: White tree fruits, citrus, cream.
    D(epth)=1: Tangy mouthfeel. Average length and finish.

  • Develops in the glass with temperature.
    Apples, pear and rye bread at the beginning, later some tropical fruits and flowers.
    Nice acidity.

  • Fresh on the nose - loads of quince, orange vest, and apricot. There’s nothing out of place. Good value.

  • A good cava, the chardonnay adds creamy and fruity flavours that round up and smoothen the experience. May be a bit too simple, but very easy to drink.
