(Elderton Shiraz) Group's #2 (my #1) – 31 pts; 3 1st place votes, 3 2nds, 1 third, 1 last – Dark cherry red color; lovely ripe and spicy plum and dried red fruit nose; tasty, spicy and ripe plum, mulberry, clove and sage palate; medium-plus finish (most complex palate of the tasting) 93+ pts.

Excellent, Robert Parker style.
14.5% alc. 18 months in new French & US oak puncheons.
Colour: dark brick red
Bouquet: plum, mint, leather, spice, vanilla, incredible intensity
Palate: as bouquet, blackberry, liquorice, prunes, with incredible depth and power, huge soft drying tannins, but soft, long palate and clean finish.

Browning red, nose is subtle with plum and spice . Mid to front palate shows slightly stewed red fruits with the mid to back palate having savoury plum and rich oak influences. Wine finishes with good length but is just hanging in there, and on a steady decline.

nice blueberry fruit on the nose. Hints of chocolate and vanilla. Tannins were well resolved and there was some nice acidity on the short finish. Well made australian shiraz.

Christmas '05 in Australia; 12/8/2005-12/27/2005 (Melbourne, Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne and Gold Coast): A little brown edge, maroon colour. Medium body, quite fresh and light on the nose. Tannic finish.
