I've been enjoying this wine over the last couple of days. I don't drink much Beaujolais, but I tend to like wines from Morgon. This one has a solid amount of fruit and depth, and their is a slight earthy edge to it. Despite being 11 years old, it seems pretty youthful. A nice change of pace, and a wine that makes me think I should be buying a few more from Morgon, like Foillard, etc.

Well-stored since release. Popped and poured the 1st night, but found it to be still quite closed and stemmy. My first thought was that this was over the hill, but others drink these with decades of age, and so I let it sit for 4 more nights, trying a little each night. And indeed, it got better with each evening -- the last two nights were excellent. I won't open the next one for 5-10 more years.

Was surprised at how young this was tasting. Was a still kind of tight at the beginning but mellowed a bit with some time in the decanter. The tannic structure is there for further aging. Was a bit better with food than it was on its own. Not quite as much acidity as I was hoping but was definitely enjoyable.

Still tight but delicious. Rocky, purple grippy fruit and lots of structure. I might wonder if it will ever open, but I think it will... Still upside.
