As predicted an even better showing than my last bottle, indeed a completely different wine. Golden in color but still fresh and indeed improving as it sits over several hours. Some find it a little soft but that doesn't change the fact that there's a lot going on here with scents and flavors that defy deconstruction.

Low-fill bottle, yet still in impressively sound condition, next bottle should be even better. Opens with a chalky, almost seashell scent and a pale-complexioned, tensile palate presence. Quickly deepens in its fruit complexion to match the wine's golden color and unwinds into something more viscous. Now the aromas are a creamy lemon/lime custard with coffee grounds adding a deeper pitch and just enough grit to save it from flabbiness.

Belated Peking Duck House notes. Mostly Rhone, some Burgs, Champagne & California. (Peking Duck House- Midtown): Hmm. There's a lot of oak showing on the nose and palate that I was only able to get that after all the sulfur blew off. Wait a minute. Below the oak there's a bit of mineral and pear compote showing. It's a little light in the acid department and just too oaky for me. Others liked the wine more than I did. B.
