PnP before and during dinner. Took 45 minutes to open up. Overly fruity at first, but smoothed out nicely. (Decant next time.) Good for at least two more years.

Very good, but not great. Decanted for about an hour to soften the edges before pouring for dinner with a grilled pork chop. The high alcohol content never really muted itself and clashed a bit with dinner. Dark purple, fragrant and tasty, just not perfect.
I wonder if either more bottle time (still pretty vibrant, so I think the drinking window is still open) or a longer decant might be in order for the last bottle in my cellar.

Tasted blind on first night, then revisited on following night (at which time I knew the wine's identity). Last night, this seemed a little volatile, with sweet cherry, brown sugar, vanilla, raspberry and some tang. Good, not great. And of note, we poured this against the 2017 Papera and that wine for me was (and is) the far better of the pair. The 2011 even tonight seems ponderous to me, lacking some edges and definition. Instead, it tastes a lot like last night and the brown sugar and red fruited hard candy thing just doesn't marry well for me.

Exceeded expectations for a 2011. A lot of life left
