Surprisingly deep golden color, but not oxidized. Effusive aromas of lemon oil, stone, pine, and a slight aged oxidative patina. Good palate density, structured as much by its mineral bite as by its acidity, with very good length. Wonderful with soft-shell crab. This bottle is delicious and I think fully mature.

Tasted over 3 hrs -translucent med gold -wet stone honeyed floral citrus wool -med+ acidity, med/med- weight with a surprising viscosity and super intense sappy mineral -lively complex brilliant, showing some maturity but far from tired, showing why this is one of (maybe the) greatest wine <$20

As the reviewer below noted, we've had older Briords that tasted younger. As oxygen intruded, this Briords progressed from interesting to insanely, savagely drinkable. I didn't find the typical salinity I associate with Muscadet, but rich aromas of fruit and flower more than compensated. My only bottle, and if I had another I'd drink it sooner than later.

I've had older Briords that tasted younger. (Curiously this item exemplifies a maturation pattern similar to one I noticed in 2012 Simone—of all things.) Brittle banana peel leather; waxy seed resins; a beckoning core of radiant, solar fruit. It's like a package of botanical defense that contains a proportional embarrassment of palate nutrient. Small sips at nearly room temperature, as one commenter noted, that's where the needle fits into the groove. Also, it improved with air; the last five ounces in the bottle, kept over night, made the tastiest pour. Green floral musk. Cured lemon peel. Very long, gravel, salt, and sour steel finish. I used to be able to find Cote de Beaune that acted like this.

Drinking very well, including a last glass that had been in the fridge for weeks.
