This is what mid-level California Cabs are all about --- for better and worse. There's lots of fruit, just a touch jammy. The tannins and oak are well balanced with the fruit. Lots of body. Moderately long finish. A big wine, without a lot of subtlety. Put it up against red meat, strong cheeses, or dishes with a lot of tomato or fruit in the sauce. Brash, not elegant. There are no off-putting flavors, so fine for the price.

PnP,ruby color w/medium forming legs. Nose of cherry, raspberry and some darker fruits with some oak and a little heat. Cherry, raspberry, boysenberry and currant on the entry. The oak treatment becomes more apparent in mid-palate along with some plum and darker fruits.Medium tannins on the longish finish.Little bit of a harsh edge to the tannins makes me think this would be better in a year or two but it is drinking pretty well right now. Overall a nice mid-level Cab with the potential to improve over the next 2-3 years. The QPR depends on whether it lives up to that potential. Day 2: The tannins have pretty much resolved overnight, making the finish much softer while the fruit profile is pretty much unchanged. This wine needs some air-time.

Pretty decent cab at a great price. Straightforward with crushed red fruit and a touch of licorice. Nice tannins and a moderate finish.
