  • I had a bottle of this one almost a year ago and enjoyed it. This time around, this one really stood out. We opened it and let it stand in the bottle about an hour. A little bit of bricking around the edges in the glass, nice semi transparent coloring. Really nice nose of roses, berry and maybe a little leather. Very silky in the mouth, more berry and leather and maybe even some smoky notes. Nice smooth long finish. Not a great vintage for BdM, but this one is drinking really nicely, and held up well. I’d say it has maybe a year or two, maybe longer if you like them dusty.

  • This wine needs about 20 minutes in the glass or a solid hour or two in decanter. After that you can't have enough. Opens up beautifully.

  • Still drinking extremely well, at its peak. Acid is a tick higher than 7 months ago. Without food, the secondary and tertiary flavors are slightly affected making it less cohesive. Drink up.

  • Decanted 2 hrs. Dark red / brown in the glass. Really nice nose of cedar and faint blackberry. On the palate, more cedar and some leather along with blackberry, black cherry in the background. Very firm tannins. A nice, long finish. Drank blind alongside a 2008 Casanova di Neri Tenuta Nuova. Consensus was both were real enjoyable, the CdN was a little more smooth. Had with pork tenderloin. I think maybe This needs to be drunk within a year or so to enjoy.

  • Lighter brown red body, not as dark as the Riserva. Nose has salted caramel, tomato skin, cheese rind, orange peel, clean raspberry frambois. Sweet palate with black cherry, raisin, montmorency cherries. Nice, hefty tannins (by no means monolithic or unapproachable, just firm). Back end is a little sharp and dry, slight rosehips. All-in all, a quality wine at a great price $50 USD that is in a peak drinking window and has at least 5 years left before it should start to decline
