Golden straw. Sea breeze and orange peel on the nose. Citrus and stone on the palate, finishing long with impressions of spice and iodine. A tad flabby and not the most concentrated or intense Raveneau, the 1999 Les Clos is very nice but not particularly special for the age, despite this being a pristine bottle. Should drink well for several more years.

(Raveneau Chablis "Les Clos") Huge nose of minerals and some spiced apple. Palate was big with lots of minerality and huge depth of fruit. So pure. The essence of Chablis. A treat and actually my first Raveneau "Les Clos." I need to drink more of this stuff.

Another bottle a week later confirms this is in great spot. Perfectly poised. Don’t serve too cold .

Superb. Really classic, long, elegant Clos. Not the power of other vintages, but all is in perfect harmony. Drink now.
