Opened and decanted two hours prior to tasting note. Moderate plus viscosity, dark purple color and moderate plus concentration. Darker aromas of blackberry compote, tar, creosote, espresso, grilled game meats and hints of violets, spicy oak, black licorice and sarsaparilla are varietally correct. the wine enters the palate with a bright fruit flavors of pressed dark cherries, blackberries, black plum and dried blueberries, the mid palate has flavors of baking chocolate, wood, espresso, vanilla, candied violets and black licorice. The acidity is moderate, (and makes this a wine that should be drank within the first 7-10). The ripe tannins are moderate, and silky, leaving a push feeling in the mouth! The finish is medium in intensity and length.
