Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of leather, potpourri, berries, a little currant and some plum. Surprisingly rich flavors of berries, cherries and plums. Medium acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Drink or hold based on this bottle. Frankly, I was a little surprised by how well this bottle performed.
Garnet color and almost opaque, good density to the rim where it is showing slight hints of orange. Very fragrant aromas of currant, blood, iodine, cherry and rhubarb. Tastes are currants, cherry, sweet spices, leather, stone, and tobacco. The tannins are silky and the finish is floral and fruity.
Enjoyed at Cafe Society (Memphis, TN). It was smooth, powerful (but not overpowering) with a beautiful color and a lovely fragrance (due to the Cab Franc in the blend), wonderful red fruit and a long finish. This wine has not yet reached its peak. This wine proves that if one waits, a California cab will reward your patience.
