2nd place at our blind Pinot tasting, enjoyed by all despite some stiff competition. Of note, there was one Burgundy and one Oregonian in the line-up (for comparison to the others from RRV and Sonoma Coast) and everyone thought this was the Burgundy! Well made wine, hats off to David Adelsheim.

Tasted at the winery. The wine is light to medium ruby with a very effusive nose of white pepper, cedar, sous bois and cranberry. Very complex and layered mouth feel but very light on the tongue. The palate has cranberry, baking spices, tart red berry, raspberry and a moderately long finish. These 2011 Oregon Pinot's (in general and this wine in particular) are aging much better than most critics expected. Lovely wine!

2011 in Oregon was, by all accounts, similar to 2011 in Australia – a cool, wet year. This is a lovely Burgundian styled wine though – spicy red fruits, crunchy acidity, sappy and spicy finish.

Red fruit up front, good body, good acidity on the finish... not a ton of complexity but a lot of intensity... tasty.
