Chablis Tasting at a collector's home (San Mateo, CA): Decanted for 3 hours, served blind in a flight of 08/12 Les Clos, Wine F. My 2nd rank, groups 4th rank. Pale yellow. Honey, sea breeze and a lovely spicy element on the beautiful nose. Deep, ripe lemon infused fruit, balanced acidity and fresh chalky finish.

Raveneau Grand Cru with Maxime Raveneau (110 Taillevent London): During Raveneau dinner with Maxime Raveneau sampling all three GCs 12/10/08/05 at 110 Taillevent London. No formal notes taken. The Clos for me slightly besting the other 2 GCs in this vintage. Interestingly the most approachable to me today although also still too young and tight. Very mineral, concentrated but lush fruit peaking through. Should be a grand wine in the future. 94 today with potential to 96/97.

Saline and seashell notes but a little reserved aromatically right now. Dense palate. Several bottles of this 2-3 years ago were more open and expressive and much more impressive so I think this is in a relatively closed phase. 93+?

Thick, complex, tight woven. Expressive yet the Dauvissat road over it rough shod with its bright acidity. We tried to coax this guy out of its shell but in the end it was one of the last bottles finished. So I guess hold it longer?

Le meilleur chablis que je n’ai jamais eu l’opportunité de boire. Un équilibre et une longueur en bouche exceptionnel. Un vin d’une grande finesse.
