  • Cork in good shape. Nice medium straw colour. On the nose, upon opening, aromas of oyster shells and assorted minerals, lemon, touch of cotton candy. On the palate, the attack is frank, lively bordering on steely, with a firm attack of the aromas as found on the nose. A good lift and a very very good length of these same aromas. This bottle is in better shape than the one tasted a year ago that seemed a little tired. This is perfectly fresh and beautiful. Certainly still at peak and a joy to drink with a seafood platter. Sad it is my last one of this vintage - I should get more of a more recent vintage. 91

  • Medium-pale straw gold. On the nose, aromas of oyster shells, faint citrus and apple. On the palate, the attack is frank with a good balance, mineral attack with a bit of citrus, and on the "retro-olfaction" clear "boskoop apples from the cellar" length. A good balance, length and vibrancy remain in this 8 year old Vosgros. 90-91

My experience with old wines being mostly limited to red wines (Bordeaux in particular), desert wines (Sauternes and Xeres...), and the odd old white Bordeaux, I'm not entirely sure where this is going. More apple and less floral and citrus than the previous bottles, but still a good acidity, this could probably hold for quite a few more years, though not entirely sure if I'll prefer it older than today (or 1-2 years ago). Or rather perhaps either this is a slightly off bottle, or I preferred it a touch younger. A matter of inexperience in older Chablis? Perhaps. I only have one of these left which I will keep for 2022 for an even 10 years of age and I have several of the 2014s and 2017s which I can keep to watch further evolution. Regardless, I'm still very fond of this - my first "Oh my!" Chablis.

  • A further bottle of this wine consumed with the same impressions as in my earlier TNs. The first glass drunk beside the last glass of a 2013 Piuze 1er Cru Vaillons Les Minots Chablis. I - marginally - preferred the more open Piuze of the two Chablis. There is more Chablis typicity about the Picq. The Picq, ideally probably needs more time than the Piuze, perhaps a minimum of 2-3+ years.

  • Nice medium-pale yellow colour with straw and green reflections. On the nose, slight aromas of reduction, but mostly oyster shells, a touch of lemon and apple, and slight floral components. On the palate, the attack is frank, with some ripeness to the fruit, with a good acidity with hints of lemon and sour apple. There is continuity of the aromas as on the nose and a very good length, the whole, finishing with aromas of white fruits and a nice mineral touch. I really enjoy the texture/mouthfeel of this wine. Very good today and I think it has reached its plateau and should stay there for another 3-5 years. A very good buy for those who like classic Chablis. 91

  • Another bottle consumed. The same impressions as in my TN from earlier in 2019. A very 2012 1er Cru Chablis. I doubt it'll improve significantly. I'd drink in the next 3-5 years.
