Decanted, let it breathe for an hour, re-chilled slightly. Recommend at least that amount of air for it. Like a very solid, very balanced, very tannically smooth (without seeming overly modern) C-d-R. Stood up easily & nicely to a fennel/pepper/mustard/garlic/dill rubbed hanger steak.
89/90. A Rimmerman win -- this is wildly good QPR, as advertised.
I almost wonder if each person who is drinking this wine has a completely different wine. The notes by other drinkers have zero consistency and almost nothing to do with the bottle I drank. Color was more purple. Bouquet had mineral notes and dark fruit. Taste was complex with medium tannins and notes of currants and minerals.
A big wine with earth and tar and chewy tannins. My lady opened this a few nights back and I'm just getting to it so it's had plenty of air, which I would say it benefitted from. Very nice for the price. I'll look for more.
