  • Dark ruby red color. On the nose, this wine is straightforward with plums and dark cherry but not much else. The palate is fairly boring with plums and cherry, though it lacked excitement. The mid-palate is a little thin for this light-bodied wine. The acidity is balanced and the tannins do not intrude on the moderate finish. Overall, this was not a wine I would buy again because it could have been from anywhere and didn't provide any excitement or character.

  • 13.3% alcohol. This ruby-red wine sports a red cherry nose tinged with earth and sandlewood. On the palate, red fruits such as cherry and tart cranberry glide across the tongue with a subtle, earthy undercurrent. Structurally, this is light-bodied with refreshing acidity, but it does come across as feminine and lacking some mid-palate depth. There are some tannins lurking below the surface, so additional aging may be beneficial. The red-fruited finish is moderate but enjoyable. Overall, this is a decent village wine that will have some more time, but it will not transcend its classification.
