  good lower neck level and excellent long elastic cork, 1.5 hour decant, colour remarkable for age, very little brown, wonderful nose, classic Margaux, all finesse and class but with great intensity and complexity, just lovely, palate of medium-light weight but still rich, perfect balance, length and persistence, aftertaste lasts for minutes, another really top bottle, unfortunately getting toward the end of the case, which was bought en primeur and well stored, lovely wine at its peak

  1.5 hour decant, at this age variation is to be expected and this was a really top bottle, level lowermost neck, good elastic soaked cork, very good and lively colour with only slight bricking at the rim, classic elegant Margaux nose, super fine, complex, nuanced, deep, palate of medium weight but with great intensity, flavour, balance and length, mature but in its prime, just lovely (12.6%)

  level uppermost shoulder, good saturated cork, some bricking but still good colour for age, lovely classic, fine, Margaux nose, classy, tending to austerity, palate of medium weight but good finesse and concentration, distinctly dry finish, good length and lovely persistent aftertaste, light on its feet, delightful wine

  lower neck level, excellent 3/4 soaked cork, colour still quite youthful, only slight browning at rim, fine, elegant, complex nose, slight green vegetal character, same character also discernible on the palate, medium weight, elegant, good length and persistent aftertaste, this bottle just slightly hard and bitter, distinct acidity toward finish, could do with a touch more sweet fruit, still very nice though
