  • Opened at 5pm, served around 7:30pm. On the nose, the regal Grand cru aromas were immediately obvious. Very vibrant, without overly ripe nor intense. Very polished, but not the most dense Chambertin I've come across. It kept on getting better throughout the night, and should improve with 5 or 10 more years of bottle ageing.

  • Served blind to me. Opened 2.5 hour before serving. Nose was more Gevrey than Rousseau with animal, fur, candied red fruit, vitamins and sweet currants. Palate was widely open and express with doses of upfront candied sweetness. Lacking a bit of grand cru length and power but understandable for Rousseau’s Mazy. Drinking well. 92-93

  • My first time to taste Rousseau. What a treat. PnP, served from bottle. This had a familiarity to it, large in scale, with black to red fruits, a hint of green, although I’m told this is fully destemmed. Maybe a little wood tannin still hanging around. Nice depth and core of fruit with balanced acids and a little sucrosity on the finish.

    Bella esperienza

  • SLDS March 2019: Roses, red cherry, stems, redcurrant, floral and pretty nose. Delicate on the palate with good acidity and red fruit profile. Settled now but has plenty of time to go.
