Some good freshness still, this needed some time in the decanter to show better, a pirate alongside a few CLB village wines and a totally different kettle of fish this older Bouchard offerings - quite traditional / older style rusticity vs the ueber glossy and polished sexy seamless Louis-Michel wines. I do have a strong preference for CLB.

Given the vintage and terrior, this is a disappointment. Nose has some iron, herbs and prune. Palate lacks the sweetnes of fruit given the great vintage.

Has never seen a temperature above 54 degrees (mostly at 47( since acquisition upon release. There is plenty here yet. Has plenty of weight. Showing more richness and a bit more it seems on the black fruit side - dried black cherry if you will. But it retains somewhat coarse. More Pommard like than Vosne. Retains a dry tannin note on the finish.

With 2 hours of air this was still showing plenty of tannin. Similar to many '90s, this has good fruit, and is showing some seconary flavors, but has a hint of roasted fruit and more importantly leaves you wondering if the fruit will hold long enough for the tannins to soften. If perfectly stored, this probably needs 3-5 years to find out. A-/?

Woke up nicely after 2 hours. Nice fruit and earth on the nose. Soft tannins, delicate spice, nice fruit and mineral edge.
