This 1999 Leflaive Folatieres is at its peak, not as reductive as the 99 Pucelles or the Grand Crus. I find older Folatieres lighter compared to recent vintages, this 99 showed elegant stone fruits, toasted wood, dried herbs and sous bois. At its peak and very enjoyable. My guess was 1998 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru. (90/100)

Clearly past it’s peak now - nothing wrong here just a wine that should have been drunk 5 or 10 years ago. Now lacking bite and intensity. A few oxidative notes.

(Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Folatieres") Been drinking alot of Leflaive lately and it is interesting. Some are ponderous and big without focus and others are so pure and focused but also have this wonderful pillowy texture and piercing minerality. This was group B. Wonderful elegance on the midpalate and oozing with minerality and ripe fruit. This is drinking so well but has killer acidity which will enable it to go for a while.
