Nose of jam, bay leaf, sour cream, and whisky. Flavours of raspberry, prune, and bark chips. Big, smooth tannins give the mouthfeel a milky smoothness.

Screwcap. Very strong, concentrated nose of raspberry, kirsch, and soy sauce, backed by notes of smoked paprika and chili. On the palate, there's a bit on oxidation, then strong fruit. Sharp flavours of cranberry, soy sauce, and plum. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied, with smooth tannin and bright, zippy acidity. I don't love it, but the powerful flavour makes it a good match for strong food. Not worth the $70 it usually sells for.
