  • The Vilafonte Series C is drinking phenomenally well now. If you have bottles, drink them now. WOW! Decanted 1 hour prior to serving. Perfect balance of fruit, acidity and velvety tannins. Plum, cherry, and fig pop through first followed by chocolate overtones. Bought direct from the winery upon release and stored in controlled facility. A tremendous result for Mike and his team. Thank you for making such a treat for our New Year’s Eve dinner.

  • Now mature, tannins very melty, fruit still has some freshness, big, warming mellow wine, plums, warm spices. Oak now very integrated. Quite soft, luxurious.
Lots of pleasure but probably at its peak

  • Blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec...wow, a Left Bank like marvel! We admit erring in sipping after only one hour of breathing as this really started to show at 2+ hours, particularly the tannins. At 3 hours...wow! Equally, we think this barely legal dahlia' will mature into a statuesque lady in another 5+ years. Dark, thick purplish-red envelopes the eye as the nose is greeted with a perfume ripe, somewhat jammy black fruit. The palate is teased with liquorice, chocolate and light coffee....if only it was morning. Very subtle tannins, slowly developing throughout the mouth, with a silky elegant and relatively long finish. The 22 months in oak is apparent on both the nose and palate, but well-balanced, not overwhelming. A winner from A to Z, but definitely should rest another 5 years before sipping...albeit we look forward to comparing this NOW barely legal drop to the stunner it probably will be.
