This was a neglected bottle we finally opened to pair with teppanyaki and sushi. Went a treat and the wine is surprisingly stable and fresh at 6 years.
Characteristic litchi and jasmine shine through. Bone dry finish. Delicious.

A grown up grapefruit and lychee soda, without the carbonation, but I did detect a little RS. This is lots of fun, and it's the gewurztraminer haters answer to a wine with over the top floral aromas and personality plus. Birichino makes wines with distinctive labels, from underutilized varieties at reasonable prices, but I think the wines aren't great values over all as the winemaking seems a bit sloppy--the RS, the simple flavors. Dancing Coyote is doing something similar and, IMO, doing it better. Still, there's a place for this wine, if you can pry white wine drinkers in the $10-15 price range away from chardonnay.

Lagom syra. Lite grapefrukt i avslutet.
