Very good California Pinot Noir. No question, it ain't Burgundy, but it succeedes within it's own paradigm. Alcohol a little obvious, but otherwise a very smooth palate. Simple. Suspect most Americans will like this very much.

Fairy deeply colored for a Carneros Pinot. Wine has a ponderous feel, like: Is it really 100% Pinot Noir? Lacks freshness and vibrancy, but some of this could be from poor storage. Improves with air. In my local store was $20, reduced from $33 (I think). Should be more like $18. Another example of how US Pinot Noirs are generally overpriced, just like French Burgundies. But hey, at least Burgundy has a track record. And then there's always the gem in the rough, which is why many of us keep seeking....

Nothing special about this one unfortunately. Was expecting a bit more balance and precision from this after several years of bottle aging. Just kind of flat and flabby.
