  • Immediately after pouring this the nose was very Syrah like with blackberry and bloody meat notes. After an hour of decant time the Syrah aspect faded and was replaced by rose, lavender and continuing dark fruit notes. The tannins are very fine grained and is light on acidity, with maple, dark cherry and blackberry flavors. A medium mouthfeel and a medium finish round out this fine example of this varietal. Pairing with food helps this upfront if you don't have time to air it out, otherwise if you can give it at least an hour of decant time it can stand on its own.
