A few years in the cellar has been very good to this wine, as it has brought better focus, with the lemon and saline elements at the core and a subtle richness around the edges that adds depth and persistence. Brisk finishing acidity makes keeps everything in check. I don't know enough about the Heron Lake Vineyard to speak to any terroir signature, but this is certainly a lovely wine.

PnP. Cloudy light yellow. Palata was creamy, straw, with slight citrus background. Finishes with a clean, tart. Unique chardonnay. overpriced but probably will buy again. Randie and I liked, but not others.

Since I first tasted this a year ago, this wine has really come into its own. Whereas before it was steely and reticent at first, it now shows well on opening, and only improves with air time. Straw, apple, melon and a hint of oak accent the mineral-heavy aromas. It has an ample acid backbone which supports the tart stone fruit, limestone, and chalky flavors which practically beg for food. A very nice effort from a fairly new producer. You know the saying..."Should've bought more!"

surprised prior reviews top out at 90 points as this hits a lot of very high end cali-chard notes. still singing on day 2. floral nose with a gently oaky palate. long finish. this is significantly better than cali chards I've had that sell for closer to $100.

Lots of crisp, ripe fruit, and bracing acidity. A very refreshing bottle of Chardonnay.
