Pretty dark color, mix of red and black fruit with a decent amount of spices. We had this after a DRC Romanée St. Vivant 2001, the Clos Vougeot has more power, less finesse, the gap in age was playing. A short decant is helpful, long years ahead.

Clos Vougeot - Northside / Chambolle-side Tasting (Chicago): Intense and broad aromas of violets and spice with black cherries. The palate shows great power with impeccable balance and restraint. Silky. Layers of Vosne-inspired complexity. Delicious and engaging now — should hold in this peak form for 10-15 years.

From Jero -- very young, rich and decadent in this format. Upside from here.

La Paulée de New York Gala Dinner (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): Small La Paulee pour from 3L from the domaine. Ripe but balanced with such pretty red cherry and berry, with faint spice and meat in the near background, and all the structure in just perfect harmony. Very good now.

Clos Vougeot (Chambolle/ Northside) Tasting (Chicagoland IL): In vertical. Ripe, powerful, so complex, and perfectly balanced. Everybody’s WOTN. ‘Nuff said.
